Activate this Mac
Open License & Support at the bottom of Latent, choose Activate License, and paste the key from the purchase email. Activation needs an internet connection and uses one of the two seats.
Latent support
Set up the output transform correctly, activate or move a license, export a LUT, and solve the problems that most often come from the Resolve node tree.

Start here
Most wrong-looking output comes from color management happening before or after Latent without the plugin knowing about it. This setup gives every stage one clear job.
Open the Latent macOS package and finish the installer. Quit and restart DaVinci Resolve after installing or updating the plugin.
In Project Settings, set Color science to DaVinci YRGB. Set Timeline color space to DaVinci Wide Gamut / Intermediate so Resolve labels the working space correctly without transforming the pixels.
On the color page, add Latent from OpenFX > Filters > Latent. Put it on the last node after the rest of the grade. A timeline or post-group node is usually the cleanest place.
Set Input Color Space to the space feeding Latent. Choose the Display setting that matches the display or delivery. Rec.709 Gamma 2.4 is the usual choice for an SDR grading display.
Do not place a Color Space Transform, Resolve output transform, or another tone map after Latent. The normal Latent path already renders the film image to the selected display.
License and trial
The unlicensed build is the complete, untimed trial. It keeps every film control available, adds a watermark to the frame, and keeps LUT export locked.
Open License & Support at the bottom of Latent, choose Activate License, and paste the key from the purchase email. Activation needs an internet connection and uses one of the two seats.
On the old Mac, choose Deactivate License while online. After Latent confirms that the seat was released, activate the new Mac.
Latent keeps a signed 30-day certificate on each activated Mac and quietly checks the existing seat once a day when a connection is available. A failed connection does not disable the plugin. A further seven-day grace begins if that certificate expires before it can refresh.
Email support@ohqay.com from the address used for the purchase. Name the Mac whose seat needs to be released. Do not send a full license key or device credential by email.
Node placement
Normal mode and Texture-only solve different jobs. Their position in the node tree is part of the image-processing contract.
Normal
Last in the node tree
Grade in DaVinci Wide Gamut / Intermediate, ACEScct, or ARRI LogC4. Latent builds the negative, print, and display rendering. Nothing should tone-map the image after it.
Texture-only
Immediately before the external DRT
Latent transfers the selected film process's grain, halation, material response, and spatial DIR while cancelling its base color and tone. Place the external display transform directly after it. Texture-only is not valid after a DRT.
Troubleshooting
Work through the short list under the exact problem. If it still fails, keep the error text and send the support details listed at the end of this page.
Expected result: Latent appears in the OpenFX filter list and can be dragged onto a color node.
Expected result: The image passes through one scene-to-display rendering: Latent in normal mode, or the external DRT in Texture-only mode.
Expected result: The Status line reads Licensed on this Mac, the watermark disappears from open Latent instances, and LUT export becomes available.
Expected result: Realtime reduces the broad spatial work while preserving the film model and grain generation.
Portable work
Use the format that matches what you need to carry to another system.
A licensed copy can export the current pointwise color and tone at 17, 33, or 65 points. The LUT input is the selected Input Color Space, and its output is the selected Display. Grain, halation, material response, and spatial DIR are not in the LUT. In Resolve, choose Update Lists after saving it and use tetrahedral interpolation.
A Latent look stores the film controls, including the chosen stocks and enabled sections. It does not change the project's color management. Use Save Look and Load Look from File to move the complete recipe between Macs that run Latent.
FAQ
Yes. Activating a Mac checks the license online and uses one of its two seats. Latent then keeps a signed 30-day certificate on that Mac and checks the existing seat quietly once a day when internet is available. A failed connection does not disable it. If the certificate cannot be refreshed, Latent keeps working for a further seven-day offline grace period after it expires. Deactivation is online and releases the seat.
Yes. One standard personal license covers one person on up to two physical Apple silicon Macs at the same time. Each named-user Latent Studio seat has the same two-Mac activation limit. Deactivate a Mac while it is online before moving that activation elsewhere.
The purchasing organization owns the seats. Each seat is assigned to one named artist, who receives a private license key and can use it on up to two Macs. The Studio contact also receives an order summary. To reassign a seat, add seats, recover an unavailable Mac, or get invoice help, email Studio support with the order reference and artist affected. Never include a full license key.
Not in the normal workflow. Latent is the output transform, so the supported setup is DaVinci YRGB with no additional output transform after it. If another DRT must own the display rendering, use Texture-only immediately before that DRT.
Not yet. The current output choices are Rec.709 Gamma 2.4, Rec.709 Gamma 2.2, and sRGB. HDR is a planned direction, not a dated release promise.
It matches the pointwise color and tone for the selected input and display. A 3D LUT cannot carry grain, halation, material response, or spatial DIR, so those parts remain specific to the plugin render.
